Vara is on a mission to pioneer AI-driven healthcare. Our current focus is on breast cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in women today. On average, 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime, with often fatal consequences. Through the use of artificial intelligence (AI), we want to give every woman worldwide access to high-quality breast cancer screening. We developed a cloud-native, AI-powered software platform that supports radiologists to fundamentally optimize the time-consuming, repetitive, and error-prone evaluation of digital mammography images. By detecting breast cancer at an early stage, Vara can enable more successful treatment options and increase the chance of survival of women. As the first spin-off of Europe's leading AI venture studio Merantix, Vara has grown since 2018 to become a 30-member international team. Our diverse team consists of highly motivated and ambitious entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and technology experts.
