Our engineering team in Australia works at a scale that most companies only dream about, and where the challenges start to get seriously exciting. In fact, our global engineering team is one of the most widely dispersed in the world, with people across nearly every continent. Who you could be working with:

We create the vital data store components that power Zendesk applications and services. Our team is crafting a beautifully simple way for other developers to just get their datastores and not sweat the details. This is essential for a company where petabytes of data are spread across hundreds of datastore. So if the idea of helping hundreds of teams quickly and easily provision secure, reliable datastores in AWS sounds exciting, join us!

What you could get to do every day:

  • Communicate and collaborate with a team of engineers who care about the product and code to provide simple, sophisticated solutions to complex technical problems.

  • Use sound methodologies at every stage of the development cycle including technical design, pair programming, peer code review, documenting, testing, and continuous integration.

  • Build great software that is used by other developers.

  • Develop infrastructure life-cycle automation using the Custom Resource Operator pattern within Kubernetes and Golang.

  • Share the responsibility of maintaining the systems built by the team.

What we’d love you to have:

  • Proficiency in Golang, Kubernetes, and AWS.

  • Fast learner with at least 7 years of hands-on coding experience.

  • A desire to build clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

  • Eagerness to work with team members of various experiences and skill sets.

  • Willing to learn, ask for help, pair, and acquire new skills.

  • Someone who is self-motivated, has strong collaboration skills and enjoys working with others to get the desired outcome

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and lead discussions.

  • Ability to work with uncertainty

  • Excellent communication skills

Please note that Zendesk can only hire candidates who are physically located and plan to work from Karnataka or Maharashtra. Please refer to the location posted on the requisition for where this role is based.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
