Zendesk’s Service Catalog is a foundational component of our core platform, enabling organizations to define, manage, and optimize structured service offerings for IT, HR, and internal operations. We are developing an enterprise-grade, extensible service catalog framework that integrates with approval workflows, automation, and fulfillment systems to provide a seamless service request experience.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with a backend or full-stack skillset to join our team. This role is focused on developing scalable catalog-driven service request workflows, hierarchical service data models, and extensible API-driven service fulfillment solutions. What You’ll Do

Develop and Deliver High-Impact Solutions

  • Design and develop enterprise-grade service catalog features, supporting structured service requests and fulfillment.

  • Build and optimize GraphQL and REST APIs, ensuring reliability and scalability.

  • Work with relational databases (MySQL/Aurora) to manage and optimize data storage and retrieval.

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to develop seamless integrations between the backend and UI components.

  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and testable code.

Collaborate and Grow as an Engineer

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to define and develop new features.

  • Learn from and contribute to technical discussions, system design reviews, and problem-solving sessions.

  • Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and security.

  • Participate in agile development processes, helping improve team efficiency and delivery speed.

  • Help maintain up-to-date and accurate technical documentation.

Contribute to a High-Performing Engineering Culture

  • Stay up to date with best practices in structured service catalog architectures.

  • Be an advocate for writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

  • Gain exposure to real-world software challenges at an enterprise scale.

  • Participate in on-call rotations after an initial training period, helping maintain the reliability of our systems.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in software development, focusing on structured service catalog modeling or automation-driven workflows.

  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and experience with relational databases such as MySQL/Aurora.

  • Experience building scalable service APIs (GraphQL and REST) that integrate with automation and approval workflows.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, optimizing service request fulfillment performance.

  • Passion for enterprise service management and structured data modeling for hierarchical service structures.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on enterprise service catalog platforms, ITSM, or structured request management solutions.

  • Familiarity with service-oriented architectures and multi-layered approval workflows.

  • Experience working with observability tools (e.g., DataDog) and optimizing API performance.

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł164,000.00-zł246,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
