TouchBistro is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst Mat Leave coverage ( 13 months )to join our Corporate Accounting Team. Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounting you will be responsible for working directly with the company’s supply chain team to oversee inventory requirements along with month-end reporting. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting with the month-end close, preparing a detailed analysis of income statement movement and preparing payments to our hardware vendors.

In this role you will work closely with teams across the company, as well as with external partners as you contribute to building the financial infrastructure to scale the growth of TouchBistro.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Inventory Reporting: Create new monthly and weekly reports, as well as streamline existing reports that provide insight into past performance and future trends of inventory. Leverage technological solutions to streamline business processes and ensure accounting and valuation of inventory is maintained.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable recommendations to management based on findings.
  • Month End and Year End Closing: Lead processes for consolidating month-end inventory results and ensuring accuracy of financial reporting. Partner with cross-functional teams in planning, communicating, and analyzing inventory performance along with order requirements and credit availability.
  • Reconciliations: Prepare month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts, researching issues, resolving discrepancies, and explaining variances.
  • Processing Payments: Lead the pay run process for hardware related vendors and ensure the appropriate steps have been undertaken when working with new third party logistic firms in coordination with the supply chain team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain and operation teams to understand inventory needs, challenges, and opportunities. Provide financial insights to support operational decisions. Play a key role in assisting with managing external relationships with hardware vendors.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard inventory assets.
  • External Audit: Assist with external audits on an annual basis.
  • System and Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to streamline inventory reporting and analysis.

All About You

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a Financial Analyst role with some prior exposure to working with inventory and a supply chain team.
  • Prior experience within a public accounting firm is also preferred; however, a minimum of 2+ years of operational experience is required.
  • You have completed or actively pursuing an accounting designation (i.e. CPA).
  • You have prior experience with IFRS along with utilizing accounting and billing software.
  • You have prior experience with month-end close, variances analysis, and reconciliations.
  • You have experience working in a multi-currency environment.
  • You have proven experience with Excel and are comfortable handling large sets of data.
  • You're a problem-solver who searches for process deficiencies and identifies solutions.
  • You're flexible, as the organization is constantly changing and your daily tasks might vary accordingly. You’re willing to dive into the details and can operate with limited oversight.
  • You're a natural leader, with strong communication and interpersonal skills – you're comfortable coordinating with other departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working within a mid-size company (preferably software or manufacturing company with hardware offering).
  • Experience with NetSuite and Zuora.
