Site reliability engineer

The role

As a Site reliability engineer you will focus on improving stability and security aspects of the technical stack of Quorso by:

  • Owning monitoring and logging integrations, as well as alerting capabilities by improving and automating currently manual processes
  • Identifying and logging discovered performance and security related issues
  • Working on remediation for the discovered issues related to backend and infrastructural layers, as well as maintaining documentation for remediation procedures where applicable
  • Participating in detailed technical implementation planning for the larger engineering projects

Requirements

  • Experience of working in the role or as backend/devops engineer for at least 4 years on projects using Ruby, SQL and Kubernetes
  • Ability to quickly learn platform stack and staying up to date with ongoing development
  • Experience in proactive implementation of logging and monitoring layers to tailor them to actual platform needs based on our internal practices and external commitments
  • Contributing in defining SLAs, experience in setting and managing SLOs
  • Maintaining documentation of procedures on how to remediate known issues
  • Experience with raw SQL, slow query investigation on large data sets
  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm charts, major Azure and AWS cloud services, as well as monitoring tools (cloud native and Elastic Cloud)
  • Excellent debugging skills and ability to produce updates/fixes to Ruby code and optimise SQL queries
  • Git and Git flow approach, solid experience and understanding of main commands - branching, stashing, rebasing, fast forwarding, pushing changes
  • Solid understanding of Linux, navigational and search commands, regular expressions
  • Solid practical usage of text editors and supportive tools for efficient coding

Core Offer details

  • £60-80k if UK based (salary will be geography dependent
  • Commitment to work for at least 2 weekend days during each month (paid extra, equivalent number of day offs in lieu each following week)
