The role

The Creative Team at PrimaryBid is centralised. We support the needs of our customers, as well as every area in business, across all geographies. The environment is fast paced, and the work is varied; you may be designing event collateral today, and building a marketing prototype tomorrow. We expect a high level of ownership as you lead and support across projects and stakeholders. We believe that collaboration is key for a successful creative output, and have created an environment where we all feel empowered and comfortable articulating ideas, and giving/receiving feedback.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with Creative Team to build and apply our brand strategy and design principles across all creative output, including landing pages, emails, marketing campaigns, and sales collateral
  • Collaborate with leaders from across the organisation with a strategic mindset; bring their visions to life, ensuring our brand vision reaches all touch-points both external and internal
  • Brief and direct freelancers, contractors, and more junior teammates through complex projects
  • Lead the design of our website and other owned marketing channels
  • Contribute to and help maintain our brand assets, design systems, project organisational structures, processes and templates
  • Use your marketing experience and creative judgement to create materials that captivate our audiences.
  • Proactively research and contribute achievable and effective ideas and solutions that evolve the way we work as a team: process improvements, tooling, new technologies

Competency Requirements

Knowledge

  • Has a deep understanding of brands: how to build, upkeep, manage, and evolve one. And the difference it can make for a business like ours.
  • You're comfortable across all design software, but equally as comfortable giving the team (and beyond) direction.
  • You know how to manage stakeholders and contractors, you have well-maintained relationships and contacts across the industry which you can leverage when projects need outsourcing.

Ownership and delivery

  • Can strategically plan for time-sensitive campaigns and events in advance. You identify when work may not be impactful to achieve team goals and proactively support leadership to change direction.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures to execute projects.
  • Supervises the activities of others as needed
  • Takes responsibility for team delivering gnarly, complex projects, removing roadblocks and suggesting solutions
  • Capable of prioritising tasks based on team objectives; avoids getting caught up in unimportant details, understanding how their work supports business goals

Communication and Leadership

  • Develop a strong rapport with teammates, and adjacent functions, you prioritise your team’s needs, and take accountability for team decisions
  • Succinctly communicate issues to the team with recommendations for resolution. Confidently leads cross-team communication to align both on the design process within broader projects and manage expectations across the wider tea
  • Drives the pace of execution by setting a strong example for other team members, constantly pushing team productivity

Discipline Requirements

  • Experience working in an agency or in-house, working within a highly creative and fast paced environment
  • Outstanding portfolio which demonstrates craft across channels
  • Diverse skill-set including brand design, UI design and conceptual thinking
  • Proven experience using visual design to elevate brands, illustrate complex concepts and drive engagement with customers, clients and stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience using brands to create world class customer experiences.
  • Expert knowledge in a broad range of tools, particularly Figma, Adobe CS, G-Suite
  • Experience in design for both digital and print
  • Outstanding typography and illustration skills
  • An excitement for learning and building new things
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work with anyone at any level
  • Experience building briefs and directing external agencies, contractors and freelancers

Senior Managers and Certification Regime

The role is a Code of Conduct (COCON) role. The holder is also required to act in accordance with the PrimaryBid code of conduct as detailed in the contract of employment, the Staff Handbook, PrimaryBid Procedures (Compliance Manual) and the firm’s policies.

Regulatory responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of compliance with all applicable law, regulation, internal procedures, and codes of conduct to minimise the risk of misconduct and prevent the use of the company to further financial crime. This includes any money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery, corruption, fraud, or breaches of UK and international sanctions regimes.
  • Ensure appropriate level of market conduct
  • Ensure that you and the members of your team complete all mandatory training
  • Maintain fit and proper status, disclose any circumstances which may lead to any breach of conduct rules, and assist with any investigations or disciplinary proceedings
  • Ensure the standard of documentation of all of the relevant department’s systems, controls, policies, and processes
  • Maintain decision making record
