Are you the kind of person who makes a great first impression?

Then Jobber might be the place for you! We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our Outbound Sales team!

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

Our Outbound Sales team is uniquely positioned to help the millions of small business owners who could benefit from Jobber’s solution. The Outbound team has an incredible passion for sales, our customer, and a connection to our purpose.

This team is focused on delivering on the promise to make small businesses more successful, and they celebrate, motivate, and challenge each other daily. They are also focused on growth personally and professionally and are supported through regular 1:1’s which focus on performance, coaching, long-term development, and consistent feedback from peers and leaders.

The role:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role is best suited for people who want to make a difference in the lives of small business owners. As a driven high-performer with a track record of success and a commitment to personal growth and excellence, you will use your skills to break into new conversations with business owners and help them understand how Jobber will support their business goals. Every day you will have the opportunity to use your skills to make an impact on the lives of hard-working small business owners.

In this role, you’ll be doing:

  • A high volume of outreach to small business owners, primarily by phone
  • Using a value focused sales approach focused on understanding the customer and their business
  • Owning the sales cycle from initial contact to meetings attended with an Account Executive
  • Educating yourself daily thru formal learning, reviewing calls, and practice
  • Tracking key information in Salesforce for follow-up and analytics.
  • Going above and beyond to not only deliver in your role, but also helping your team and the company succeed

To be successful, you should:

  • Be motivated by hard work. The SDR will dial well over 200 calls per day to be successful. We need someone who is energized by moving fast, not depleted by it.
  • Be incredibly driven and tenacious. In sales, not every customer will say yes or be interested in what you have to say. This should push you to get the next yes, not defeat you.
  • Be able to collaborate. The SDR must establish strong relationships quickly and work with the Sales team to understand what is and isn’t working.
  • Be adaptable. We’re an agile company and we need people who are able to pivot and change directions when required.
  • Be a strong and confident communicator. You have the ability to actively listen and converse with our customers, and get a true understanding of who they are and what they need.
  • Be committed to learning and growth. Learning is never done, in this role you will be challenged to learn daily.
