We’re looking for a Senior Instructional Designer (contract) to lead the design and creation of Hootsuite Academy education assets, aligning the team’s production output with broader business and content goals. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts across the business to ensure the content created supports long term customer success. This is a hybrid role and is open to applicants located within commuting distance of Toronto. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Online Education. The role is a contract, with an intended duration of up to 12 months.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Create online education roadmap and course curricula using rigorous Instructional Design methodology
  • Work closely with the Academy Team to create customer-facing training assets, including (but not limited to) video scripts, content outlines, e-learning assets, articles, PPT decks, webinars, etc.
  • Implement Academy’s Pedagogical, Assessment and Editorial standards; continue to monitor and elevate standards as required
  • Build and leverage an extensive network of internal and external Subject Matter Experts to inform and create industry leading, high-value educational content
  • Support other internal teams creating customer-facing education content by sharing instructional design expertise, ensuring harmonization with existing Academy content, and increasing uptake by leveraging content across Academy platforms
  • Drive and support the development of scalable, rigorous learning assessments to reliably and fairly measure learning outcomes.
  • Undertake in-person Needs Analyses with Hootsuite customer Accounts, to surface pain points, goals, and audience characteristics in order to create custom curricula and bespoke content that addresses customer needs.
  • Provide final sign off and approval of all assets created by the Online Education team
  • In consultation with Senior Manager, Online Education, regularly pull actionable metrics and develop corrective (or amplifying) tactics
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Considerable experience demonstrated instructional design experience; preferably with a focus on online education.
  • Strong understanding of the social media landscape - in particular, professional and business uses of social media.
  • Bachelors’ degree, or equivalent, and Instructional Design Certificate
