Who are we?

Flagstone is many things. An online savings platform, reinventing how individuals, businesses, and charities manage, protect, and grow their cash. A diverse group of people, bound by a collaborative spirit, and shared purpose. And lastly, a thriving, profitable business – where smart people do their best work.

Each definition shares a common thread: our unique culture. It’s our pride and joy. And our competitive advantage.

A feel for our culture:

To revolutionise the savings market, we need to be at our best. But high performance takes more than talent – it takes a culture of kindness, respect, and growth.

That’s why we’re building a diverse, inclusive community, where your voice is heard and valued. Where, with close support and room to develop, you can surpass even your own expectations. And be rewarded for it.

We may not change the world, but we can change the world of financial technology. And all it takes is a winning mix of drive, talent, and empathy. Our culture celebrates all three.

But enough about us. Let’s talk about you.

What you'll do:

Reporting to our dynamic CFO, you will work closely together to deliver outstanding financial support to the rest of our fast-growing organisation. As we continue to scale, you will be given opportunity to put your own stamp on the finance function, building the right foundations for the future finance framework. You will be a capable Head of Finance who has end to end experience leading lean functions and driving change, and the role will be an ideal development space for future CFOs. Additionally, you will need to be confident in leading and managing finance transformation projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies, processes and systems to support the company's growth objectives, while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Manage the preparation of group internal and external financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, and presentation of management information and metrics.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure to maintain liquidity and support strategic investments.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements including full accountability for the audit process.
  • Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiencies and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

What you'll need:

You will have ability to operate in a fast-paced environment combining this with a positive and innovative attitude, constantly looking to improve processes and drive performance.

  • Qualified Accountant with experience in a senior finance role, ideally in a data intensive environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, with a deep understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Able to ‘roll up your sleeves’ when needed, and be comfortable working as part of the team as well as working autonomously.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and drive innovative solutions.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software and project management tools.
  • Ability to build best in class finance functions from the ground up, happy to 'get hands dirty' and be a team player.
