Does this sound like you?

You're a Cloud Engineering expert, ideally with 10 years hands-on experience, who's excited to forge a new way forward in a scaling business. You'll have a proven record of delivering large scale projects of work and an enthusiasm for producing and maintaining high quality systems that support business objectives. By contributing to the engineering process and performance management of the team, you also work in partnership with teams across an organisation to identify how technology can solve business challenges. You'll be highly capable of answering "how and why" technology is designed and delivered, as well as having the ability to hold conversations with appropriate granularity depending on context and audience

What you'll do:

As a Cloud Engineering Lead with a hands on focus, you will work with the team and wider business to:

• Drive an environment of high performance whilst always helping to improve the processes and practices associated with the automation and delivery of Cloud infrastructure and services
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Cloud infrastructure and platform services
• Define and implement best practices for Cloud operations, automation, and monitoring
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team
  
  

Additionally (supported by your Engineering Manager) you will contribute towards performance management through coaching and mentoring other Engineers, helping them develop better solutions with a focus on their career progression and personal development.

What you'll bring:

We are a Microsoft shop, and our platform is entirely in the Cloud on Azure where we use a variety of PaaS type services including Web/Function Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, AppInsights, Cosmos DB, APIM etc. The Cloud Engineering Lead will require subject matter expertise in Azure services, as well as both people management and technical ability. We'd love to see experience in a combination of the below:

• Creation, automation and management of Cloud services and infrastructure
• Azure, AAD and Bicep (or equivalent)
• A deep understanding of Cloud Security considerations and Networking
• PowerShell / Azure CLI
• Containers – Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps
• Orchestration platforms
• Performance monitoring – Application Insights, Pager Duty
• A deep understanding of Azure CI/CD pipelines
• Service performance – metrics and alerting
• Coaching and guiding of Engineers to develop and improve the technical ability of the whole team
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Stakeholder management
• Problem solving ability
