The Role:

As Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in strengthening our financial operations and compliance across all our markets. You will oversee financial reporting, manage tax matters, and coordinate with external accounting firms to ensure smooth monthly and yearly closing processes. This role includes a strong focus on the Swedish entities but also carries a global responsibility for tax-related matters.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit annual reports for all Swedish legal entities

• Coordinate and manage external accounting firms and internal accountants to ensure timely and accurate monthly closings, year-end closings, and audits

• Coach and lead internal accounting colleagues

• Prepare and file all Swedish tax declarations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and employer-related taxes

• Act as the main point of contact for our global tax matters, working closely with external accounting and tax advisors in all countries where FirstVet operates

• Own and develop the group’s financial reporting and consolidation processes

• Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards

• Monitor and improve internal financial controls and procedures

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and data flows across the company

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or auditing at group level

• Strong understanding of Swedish accounting and tax regulations

• Experience working with multiple legal entities and international accounting firms

• Experience working in the Swedish, Finish, German, UK and US markets

• Solid experience in coordinating audits and preparing statutory financial statements

• Excellent skills in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with tools like Quickbooks, Xledger, DATEV or similar is a plus

• Strong communication skills in English and Swedish

• High attention to detail and a structured way of working

• Experience from a tech-driven or international scale-up is a strong plus
