🚀 Your mission at Birdie
As our People Operations Associate, you’ll support the People team with operational tasks, ensuring we can all do our best work. You’ll be responsible for sending employment contracts, pre-boarding new joiners , updating details across our HR tech stack (Ashby, Humaans, Lattice, Happl, Payfit) and organising our office & socials.
This role is for a 9 month fixed term
🦸♀️ How you will contribute
Your work will directly impact the pace at which we can support all Birdies and you’ll quickly become a point of contact for employees internally, answering their queries and updating details where necessary. You’ll have an empathetic nature but a high degree of operational excellence and diligence with ability to juggle multiple work streams simultaneously without becoming flustered. Within our 5 person People and Talent team, you’ll find lots of opportunities to learn from seasoned People and Talent superstars.
Some of the key tasks you’ll be responsible for include:
Collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
Preparing and sending out employee contracts
Assisting in the planning and coordination of the annual Birdie Retreat
Keeping our tech stack updated with accurate employee information
Responding to employee queries
Organising pre-boarding and onboarding for new joiners
Supporting the Talent team with initial screening interviews

Have experience working in People teams are and confident updating HR tools and platforms
Possess a keen interest in the Employee Lifecycle and are excited to learn from experienced peers
Are based in or around London and are happy to be in our Waterloo office 3 days per week
You have a roll-your-sleeves-up attitude to work, with no task too big or too small

✨ Compensation
Our salary packages are competitive, the role is £35k. We also grant generous stock options to any permanent employee at the end of the probation period. We adjust salaries based on the cost of living index for employees based outside of the UK.
🏝 Location
This role will need to be based in London with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. We organise regular in-person events and online socials to make sure you can meet up with peers.
Birdie does not currently support any visa applications and therefore we do require permanent right to work in the UK.

Highly favourable parental leave policy; once you have spent twelve consecutive months on our payroll, primary caregivers are entitled to 26 weeks of parental leave at 100% of your usual salary and secondary caregivers are entitled to 12 weeks of parental leave, at 100% of your usual salary.

Birdie recognises the emotional and physical challenges of fertility treatment and investigations, and supports all Birdies by offering 5 additional paid days of leave.
